While reading under my desk in Spanish (naughty, I know...) I came across a section in my Betty White biography that nearly had me in stitches. Betty vividly describes how her husband bought her a Pekingese and how every day she had to smuggle it out of her apartment building. She describes how proud she was of her stealthy-ness until the day when she rushed past her door man and he made a comment about her wagging tail. When she turns around sure enough the dogs little tail is poking out from under her jacket.
Betty describes this in such a manner it had me stifling giggles what my Spanish teacher taught about preterite tense verbs. Sure I tuned out a REALLY important lesson but the pictures formed in my mind while reading that passage were worth it.
